TOBY SCHAID

Toby first found yoga in the mid-1990s while in college at an Iyengar studio. Always being drawn to service for others and a love of movement, yoga works congruently with her practice of physical therapy.

She received a Masters in Physical Therapy in 1998, went on to complete a Fellowship in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2005, and became a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists in 2006.

She has an insatiable desire to continue to learn and grow and has had a steady practice of her own for years that provides the stability, resilience, and nourishment needed in life. She is inspired by the interconnectedness and commonalities of different styles of yoga and healing arts. As a working mother of 2 boys, she finds taking yoga off the mat the most important and hardest thing to do. She hopes to offer these same skills to others and meet each student where they are.

Toby completed her 200 hr training in 2013 with Sarahjoy Marsh and has spent another 160 hrs with Jeanie Manchester in Boulder, Co. Inspired by the non-profit work of Sarajoy Marsh, she completed her training for DAYA (Delivering Accessible Yoga Alternatives) program and joined the team in Eugene in 2013. Her teaching incorporates alignment, self-care, and space for each student to have their own experience of yoga.
